Baby boom!
Narooma is the proud mum again this year of a little baby joey! Narooma, who has successfully reared three babies during her time at the park, can be seen in her paddock proudly showing off the latest addition to the wallaby gang!
Isis the Egyptian fruit bat, who only arrived at the park late last summer, is also the proud mum of one. Isis' baby can be seen quite clearly hanging off mum trying to suckle!
Nearly as big as mum, keepers at the park are hoping the youngster will fledge soon and give Isis a much needed break from carrying all that extra weight!
Other babies due to make an appearance this spring include: mara, prairies dogs, pygmy slow loris, polecats, meerkats and of course lots of baby ducklings!

Polecat frenzy!
Shepreth Wildlife Park is delighted to join Europe's breeding programme for our very own native polecat.
'Honey and Colwyn' were brought to the park earlier this month and introduced successfully. It was love at first sight!
It is hoped the pair will produce off spring over the next few weeks which can be released back into the wild in the summer!

Snow foils hedgehog release!
The abundance of hedgehogs which were set to be released this month look set to spend a few more weeks under the watchful eye of keepers at Shepreth Wildlife Park. The hedgehogs were due to be released this week but with temperatures plummeting to freezing, staff at the park are worried they would not find adequate food sources in the wild to keep their energy levels sufficient. It is hoped if the weather starts to improve in April, the release can be re-scheduled then.
We will keep you informed!
